The incumbent performs advanced legal work and supervises attorneys in legislative drafting. They assist in the drafting of legislation, advising on legal matters in Parliament, and managing the day-to-day operations of the Legislative Drafting Department.

The incumbent acts as the Chief Legal Adviser for the Board of Inland Revenue, overseeing the legal department, advising on tax law compliance, and representing the Board in tax litigation at various court levels. They are also responsible for the administration of the legal department.

The incumbent performs advanced legal work in the Board of Inland Revenue, assisting in supervision and enabling the administration of tax laws and policies. They represent the Board in tax-related litigation and oversee the approval of various tax and pension plans.

The incumbent performs advanced legal work, assists in supervising attorneys and support staff, and provides legal services in civil law to ensure compliance with legal requirements by Government Departments and Ministries, representing the State in civil matters before the court.

Under the general direction of the Chief Justice, the incumbent manages the office of the Chief Justice, providing administrative and legal support in fulfilling his role as head of the Judiciary of Trinidad and Tobago.

Under limited supervision, the incumbent performs advanced and complex legal work, supervises junior legal officers, and manages the legal unit of the Customs & Excise Division. The role includes providing legal services, ensuring compliance with customs laws, and assisting in fiscal legislation drafting.

The incumbent is required to assist in administering, reviewing, and ensuring compliance with Customs & Excise Division policies, laws, and regulations, and to represent the State in the Magistrate’s Court against offenders of Customs and Excise laws.

The incumbent is required to represent the State and the Police in all Courts of Trinidad & Tobago, ensuring the provision of efficient and impartial prosecution services (litigation and pre-litigation advisory). The position involves planning, organizing, and directing the work of the Criminal Law Department.

Under limited supervision in the Criminal Law Department, the incumbent performs advanced legal work and assists in supervisory duties over attorneys and support staff. The incumbent is required to provide advisory services on criminal matters to government departments and agencies, and to represent the State in advanced criminal proceedings.

Under limited supervision in the Chief State Solicitor’s Department, the incumbent performs advanced legal work and assists in supervisory duties over attorneys and support staff. The incumbent provides responsible professional legal services in Civil Law to Government Departments and Ministries, ensuring their compliance with the law, and represents the State in civil matters before the Court.
