Formalities Examiner

Technical work related to the grant of Intellectual Property Rights. An employee in this class receives and processes all applications and documents pertaining to registration and grant of Intellectual Property Rights. Work also involves receiving other documents and requests for changes in registration and representation. Issuing serial numbers in respect of applications and General Authorisation. Notifying proprietors, Attorneys, or agents on the status of their applications and providing information on Intellectual Property and application procedures. Work requires an understanding of well-established standards and procedures and is reviewed by a senior officer through discussions and reports and general observations for adherence to instructions, compliance with pertinent legislation, accuracy, and timely response.
