The incumbent presides over a court, adjudicating criminal, civil, and family matters. They act as a judge in summary criminal cases, hold inquiries in indictable matters, and manage the proceedings of the court, including issuing warrants and summonses.

The incumbent performs advanced legal work and supervises attorneys in the Solicitor General's Department. They represent the State in complex constitutional and civil matters, provide legal advice on local, regional, and international issues, and manage departmental operations.

The incumbent assists in the administration of the laws pertaining to real property, births, deaths, and marriages, and manages the Tobago Registrar General’s Department. They also supervise district registrars and perform administrative duties related to company and business registrations.

The incumbent adjudicates on pre-trial and post-trial applications, supervises registry staff, and performs legal and administrative duties related to civil, criminal, matrimonial, and probate matters in the Supreme Court. They also manage the execution of judgments and court orders.

The incumbent performs advanced legal work and supervises attorneys in legislative drafting. They assist in the drafting of legislation, advising on legal matters in Parliament, and managing the day-to-day operations of the Legislative Drafting Department.

The incumbent acts as the Chief Legal Adviser for the Board of Inland Revenue, overseeing the legal department, advising on tax law compliance, and representing the Board in tax litigation at various court levels. They are also responsible for the administration of the legal department.

The incumbent performs advanced legal work in the Board of Inland Revenue, assisting in supervision and enabling the administration of tax laws and policies. They represent the Board in tax-related litigation and oversee the approval of various tax and pension plans.

The incumbent performs advanced legal work and assists in supervisory duties over attorneys and support staff. They are responsible for advising the State on complex civil law aspects, representing the State in constitutional matters, and assisting in government policy formulation.

The incumbent performs advanced legal work, assists in supervising attorneys and support staff, and provides legal services in civil law to ensure compliance with legal requirements by Government Departments and Ministries, representing the State in civil matters before the court.

Under the general direction of the Chief Justice, the incumbent manages the office of the Chief Justice, providing administrative and legal support in fulfilling his role as head of the Judiciary of Trinidad and Tobago.
