Functions include training dogs and handlers, making arrangements for dogs to assist in detecting narcotics at airports and seaports; devising work schedules and assigning duties, and performing general police duties as required.

This job requires the incumbent to plan, direct, and supervise the activities of police officers assigned to the Police Armoury, engaged in functions related to the receipt, storage, distribution, and repair/maintenance of firearms and ammunition. Functions include examining and repairing firearms; testifying as an expert witness in Court; recommending the purchase of arms and ammunition for the Police Service, and ensuring that existing stocks are stored, secured, and accounted for at all times; training personnel; conducting inspections and performing general police duties.
