Under direct supervision of higher-level attorneys, the incumbent represents the State in a complex range of criminal proceedings in Magisterial matters, appearing as Junior Counsel in Criminal and Magisterial Appeals, and conducting prosecutions in the Assize Courts.

This job requires the incumbent to manage the operations of the Court and Process Branch, responsible for prosecuting cases before the Magistrate's Court on behalf of the State and ensuring law and order in all courts.

Under direct supervision of higher-level attorneys in the Criminal Law Department, the incumbent performs legal work with greater autonomy. The incumbent represents the State and provides legal advice in the area of Criminal Law in complex matters.

This job requires the incumbent to assist in managing the operations of the Complaints Division, responsible for processing complaints against police officers and ensuring that systems and procedures are in place to facilitate the disciplinary process.
