This job requires the incumbent to prepare and conduct sessions on training courses for Fire Service personnel and recruits and to ensure the proper use and maintenance of office and training equipment, vehicles, and appliances, and the timely preparation of course materials. The incumbent also responds to fire calls to provide additional fire cover when needed.

This job requires the incumbent to supervise the receipt, storage, and issue operations of the Stores Section of the Fire Service. Functions include reviewing requisitions for the purchase of goods, checking and verifying records, and coordinating the collection of outstanding invoices and bills from local suppliers. Functions also include responding to fires and other incidents to provide additional cover as required.

This job requires the incumbent to repair Fire Service vehicles and equipment and to assign and monitor the work of junior staff engaged in similar activities to ensure effective and efficient operation during use. This job requires the incumbent to supervise the operations of the Breathing Apparatus Room, ensuring that all breathing apparatus equipment is operational and maintained. Duties include inspecting apparatus at Fire Stations, giving directives for equipment care, and responding to fires and other incidents as required.

This job requires the incumbent to assist in the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the Fire Prevention Section in an assigned Division. Functions include assigning and reviewing staff work, investigating fire causes, inspecting business premises, and responding to fires and other incidents to provide additional cover.

This job requires the incumbent to supervise a group of fire service personnel on a designated shift to ensure that appliances, equipment, and manpower are in a state of readiness to respond to fires and other emergencies. Functions include assuming command of operations during emergencies.

This job requires the incumbent to supervise the operations of the breathing apparatus room. Functions include monitoring the care, operation, and maintenance of breathing apparatus sets, inspecting equipment at all Fire Stations to ensure adequate supply, and responding to fires and other incidents to provide additional cover.

This job requires the incumbent to supervise and coordinate the operations of an ambulance section within a Division, providing first aid and emergency care to injured persons. Functions include supervising triage procedures in mass casualty situations, conducting lectures on life support techniques, and responding to fires and other incidents to provide additional cover.
