Job Summary
Professional work in the field of radiography. An employee in this class takes radiographs and ultrasound scans of patients for diagnostic purposes or administers radiation to patients for therapeutic purposes as directed by a professional superior. Work involves positioning patients for the best possible x-rays to be taken and taking x-ray pictures of the various parts of the body or operating x-ray equipment in the administering of x-ray therapy. Work is performed generally in the X-Ray Department of a health institution or in a radiotherapy unit. Work is performed with independence and initiative and is reviewed by a professional superior through discussions, analysis of radiographs taken, ultrasound scans, and charts of patients undergoing radiotherapy.
