RADIOLOGIST

Specialised professional work in the field of Radiology. An employee in this class is responsible for the operation of an X-ray unit at a General Hospital. Work involves the diagnosis and treatment of internal diseases and injuries visible under the application of radiant energy in the form of roentgen rays or the operation of X-ray therapy clinics and the performance of radius insertions for the treatment of diseases. Supervision is exercised over Radiographers and other technical personnel. Work is performed under the general direction of a professional superior and is reviewed for conformance to governmental policies and accepted radiological principles, practices, and techniques through reports and general observations.
