Manages the Training Division, including directing, implementing, and evaluating Fire Service training programs. Identifies training needs, formulates policies, and oversees the intake of trainee firefighters. Responds to fires and emergencies as required.

Manages the operations of the Public Relations, Welfare and Research Section, providing services related to administration, public relations, research, and welfare for fire service personnel. Functions include overseeing official functions, ensuring maintenance, and responding to fires and emergencies.

The incumbent assists in managing fire-fighting operations within an assigned division, commanding operations at major fires, and ensuring the readiness of fire stations and equipment.

The incumbent develops and monitors fire prevention and safety programs, supervises staff, investigates major fires, and ensures compliance with fire safety requirements in buildings.

The incumbent plans and directs the day-to-day operations of the Piarco Fire Station, specializing in aircraft and airport firefighting and other emergency situations, ensuring readiness of fire crews and equipment.

The incumbent manages the operations of the Police Band, ensuring the implementation of policies, conducting performances, arranging music, and performing general police duties.

The incumbent works as second in command in the efficient and effective operation of the Registries, taking decisions in the absence of the Registrar and presiding over the Registrar’s Court.

The incumbent performs advanced legal work and assists in supervisory duties over attorneys and support staff in criminal proceedings, providing advisory services on criminal law matters, and representing the state in advanced criminal proceedings.

The incumbent is required to assist the Controller, Intellectual Property Office in planning, directing, and coordinating the legal work of the Intellectual Property Office and in carrying out its judicial functions.

The incumbent manages the day-to-day operations of the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service, coordinates the activities of the operational, specialist, administrative, and ancillary services sections, and formulates policies and strategic plans.
