The Director is responsible and accountable for managing the clinical and operational functions of the Directorate of Women's Health. The incumbent is expected to provide technical operational oversight to the Directorate of Women's Health and serve as the Ministry of Health's focal person for all maternal and neonatal issues.

The Director, Mental Health is responsible for policy formulation, strategic leadership, technical direction, management, coordination and evaluation of the national programmes for Mental Health.

To develop and implement a coherent monitoring and evaluation plan and system to track the performance, effectiveness and impact of the Health Sector HIV/AIDS response.

The incumbent has responsibility for a specialized work including supervisory responsibilities in the field of Drug Demand Reduction with emphasis on the formulation and implementation of Social Programmes/projects in the area of Drug Demand
Reduction.

Collaborates with the Quality Systems Auditor to monitor and evaluate the quality of care related to women’s health delivered by clinicians in public health institutions.

The incumbent in this position is required to provide overall direction and management to the Unit and liaises with Ministry of Health staff on policy issues for the development and revision of the Ministry’s Disaster Management Plan.

The incumbent executes various financial and operational audits directed by the Designated Officer in accordance financial practice and standards in order to determine compliance with Ministry’s policies and procedures and adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

The incumbent in this position is responsible for audit examinations of varying complexity and performs compliance, systems and risk assessment audits of policies and procedures guided by the pertinent regulations, standards and guidelines.

To provide strategic direction in HIV/AIDS treatment and care.

The incumbent is required to perform professional and technical engineering duties for the Municipal Corporation including supervisory and administrative duties in planning and coordinating the operation of Technical Unit in the Municipal Coportation.
