In charge of training police officers, recruits, and security personnel in drills, firearms, defensive tactics, street survival, and riot control. Evaluates course participants, recommends training programs, and selects officers for parades and displays.

Supervises officers in the investigation of serious crimes such as murder, auto theft, armed robbery, and kidnapping. Duties include conducting surveillance, interrogating suspects, devising work schedules, and performing general police duties.

Supervises police officers engaged in the security and transport of prisoners. Responsible for planning work schedules, monitoring performance, and ensuring the secure transfer of prisoners to courts, state prisons, and correctional centers.
