Groundsman II

Responsible manual work in the care and maintenance of grounds. An employee in this class is responsible for the care and maintenance of government grounds including playing fields and sports facilities. Duties include preparing and maintaining turf wickets and grounds for football, hockey, rugby, athletics and other sporting activities, maintaining the compound generally, securing, issuing and repairing sports equipment, supervising other employees engaged in related activities and operating a multi-purpose tractor, work is performed under the general direction of a superior and is reviewed through discussion and inspection.
